Pulsar Watches

Pulsar watches came into existance in the 1970s during the era of space exploration. The first Pulsar watch, presented in 1972 by the Hamilton Company, featured electronic quartz with LED digital display and a space-age look. By any standards, it was unique to the market for its day.

A pulsar (for which these watches were named) is the core of a collapsed star. Pulsars rotate rapidly, as much as 1,000 times per second. Radio waves are sent out with each rotation, waves that can be detected on earth. These pulses provide incredibly accurate timekeeping, which is why Pulsar is a fitting name for an excellent watch.
