Making more money eBay is the goal of any new eBay seller. One of the popular misconceptions about selling on eBay is that all items sell for exactly what they are worth. This is simply not true. The same product can sell for completely different prices based on the amount of that item being sold on eBay and the demand for that item – timing is everything. The key to making more money on eBay is understanding the nature of buying, selling, and customer demand. Below are tips and techniques which will be helpful in drawing the best price for your item listings. Following these simply suggestions will help to your goal of making more money on ebay.

Before placing an item up for auction on eBay do a quick search for that item. See what is currently available on the auction listings. Then do a search of all the completed auctions and see what your particular item sold for through other sellers. This will give you a good range of what price you should expect for your item. Doing a completed auction search may seem complicated but it is quite easy. When do any search there is a list of options on the left side, click the completed items tag and research for the item you are looking for. This will bring up a list of the product you are going to sell as well as the final total of what the item actually sold for. Take the time look at the auctions that sold for the most money and duplicate they way they wrote the add, the information about the product, and the title used. By analyzing successful auctions you can gather information about what works best on eBay. Making more money on eBay is easy to do but just takes time and a bit of innovation to get it done.

A catchy title is key for making more money on eBay. Avoid words that people do not search for like “the”, “a”, “wow”, and “great”. This just clutters up your auction title. Once you have found the perfect title for your auction fill up the remaining title characters with words which could be possible duplicates for your item. For example if you are selling a stainless steel pot, you could include pan, iron, and cook in your title. That way you maximize your search potential thus bringing more visitors to your web auction.

Shipping is another way to make sure you are making more money on eBay. Making auctions will bump up their shipping and handling costs to make a few bucks more. However, high shipping rates will actually discourage people from bidding on an auction. Try to keep shipping costs low this will keep buyers coming back to your auctions.
