Online auction sites are an ideal place for consumers to find deals that they would never be able to find at a local "brick and mortar" outlet. Unfortunately, the very nature of online transactions makes it possible for unscrupulous individuals to pose as sellers to make a quick buck scamming trusting auction goers. While most of the established online auction sites have mechanisms in place to either prevent scamming or to provide for recompense for those who have suffered as the result of devious business practices, the best way that individual buyers can protect themselves is by getting a little information about the seller before entering into a transaction.
The best way to check on the seller is to examine their feedback rating. Most auction sites allow buyers and sellers to rate their experiences as well as give a written description of their interaction with the online auction participant. Sellers who have a low feedback score should be avoided. If the seller has not yet received enough feedback ratings to have a reliable reputation, but all of the limited feedback that he or she has received has been positive, then they still may be a good seller. Make sure that the seller has a traceable email address (i.e. not a free web based email address). One way to check is to send the seller an email with a question about the product--a good seller will respond quickly, politely, and fully answer the question. If the response is not satisfactory, look elsewhere. For closeout watches up to 90% off retail visit Watchcloseouts.net
