A lot of people want to wear a high-priced, brand name watch but not all of them can afford the price tag. Those who really think their watch will make a good impression turn to knockoffs or counterfeits to improve their self-image.
The difference between them is that a knockoff does not make any statements to claim being the original while a counterfeit will attempt to make people think it is the real thing and hence usually sell for a higher price. Most manufacturers accept the fact that knockoffs exist, and some take it as compliment. They do not, however accept the fact that cheap counterfeits are cutting into their business and possibly hindering their reputation. Knockoffs are typically sold as such, noting they look like a specific brand or have the same features as a specific brand, but do not offer any warranty or guarantee that comes close to the original. With a knockoff that you buy on the street, you will probably get what you pay for and no warranty. Counterfeits, on the other hand will usually look like last year’s model and being offered as this year’s watch. If you have any doubt you can take the watch to a licensed jeweler to verify the authenticity of the watch. There will be other subtle differences with counterfeits such as the colors used on the face or on the hands and specific words or numbering on the face and even the shape of the marking to denote the hours. The company keeps a permanent record of all the little details and can quickly determine if the watch is real or not. For closeout watches up to 90% off retail visit Watchcloseouts.net
