Wholesale Croton Watches

  June 9, 2006

It can often be a large and difficult process to find a supplier that is selling the product you need and at a price you can profit from. However, it is always best to remember that the best suppliers of products do not advertise their services and can often be hard to find both online and offline. Most of the time the suppliers you find online are the middlemen and you can have a difficult getting a good price to make a profit from.

To find a good wholesale watch supplier you need to take two steps. The first of these is to find a supplier that is someone who already sells or has access to watches. This can be anywhere from a website, an eBay seller, a manufacturer, a wholesale outlet or a regular store in your city. This is the easiest step since you know what you are looking for and you simply need to find someone else who is selling that same item.

If you don’t want to use the internet to look for a local supplier, another option is to use the local phone book. The yellow pages can be one of the most valuable sources for finding local sources outside of the internet. Doing business locally can often be big plus for your business.

Another good source option is finding a distributor who is willing to put a private label on a product for you. This can give you very high quality for a lower price than if you had the brand name label.

The second step is a bit harder; you must convince your source to become your supplier. Manufacturers and wholesale sources may often have minimum orders that are beyond the reach of a company that is just starting out in the business. For new businesses, your best option is to start with online retailers, eBay merchants and retail stores.

Timex Watches

Timex is the best-known American watch company. They have become famous after a half century of producing durable, well-made watches. The Timex U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury, Connecticut and they have expanded to have substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India as well as having full-scale companies in Canada, the U.K., France and Mexico.

Timex started in 1854 under the name Waterbury Clock. During the nineteenth century, they were known as the Switzerland of America. Their sister company Waterbury Watch produced the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880.

During World War I, Waterbury started to make wristwatches, which had just started to become popular. In 1933, they made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under the license of Walt Disney, with Mickey Mouse hands that pointed out the time.

During World War II, Waterbury renamed them U.S. Time Company. In 1950, the company produced a wristwatch called the Timex. During the next three decades, the Timex watch was sold through advertisements that emphasized the watches durability. At this time, their sales skyrocketed. The company later became the Timex Corporation followed by the Timex Group and to date has sold over one billion watches.

In the 1970s, the watch industry in America was hit by the arrival of cheap mechanical watches from the Far East as well as the development of digital quartz watches. After surviving the 1970s and 80s, the Timex Company came back strongly. The company remains profitable and competitive today and the Timex brand of watches continues its dominance in the industry.

Swiss Army Watches

Swiss Army Watches have been around since the First World War They was born from the idea of a functional pocketknife. Karl Elsner was the one who put the Swiss name on the map. After the success of the Swiss Army Knife, designs were made for a pocket watch followed eventually by wristwatches.

Swiss Army Watches are stylish and dependable while at the same time being affordable. The modern Swiss Army Watches are even sleeker and contain better technology than the originals.

A Swiss Army Watch is made to be both shock and water-resistant. All watches go through a series of quality testing before they leave the warehouse. In addition, each watch undergoes visual inspection, a time test and a water resistance test to be sure they meet the company’s high standards.

Some of the modern Swiss Army Watches have built in alarms and battery life indicators. Both men and women can enjoy Swiss Army Watches. In addition, the company makes military watches, which are made in military time format.

All Swiss Army Watches are analog. They come with bands of blue, brown or black leather, a rubber strap, stainless steel link bracelet or even leather pouches for the pocket watch. An average starting price for a Swiss Army Watch is around $125.00.

You can find genuine Swiss Army Watches at several online sites for cheaper prices than a retail outlet or through the company directly. Always remember that you don’t have to pay a high price just for quality. You can always find a cheaper source online. Be sure to purchase at least a three-year warranty with your Swiss Army Watch.

The Elgin Company

The Elgin Company was founded in 1864, approximately the same time the Civil War was ending. Since their creation, Elgin has made over 60 million watches. In 1910, Elgin created their first wrist watch. In America, Elgin was the innovator in time-telling devices.

Elgin started their company with the premise of making huge quantities of watches with interchangeable parts. This made the watches very easy to fix. Before Elgin came up with idea for their product, all watches were hand made and difficult to fix when broken. Seeing the potential to make money, Elgin decided to lead everyone and became the first company to mass produce machine made watches.

Elgin never claimed to make high end watches, but they have always made decent, practical products that are fairly easy to fix. They are also watches that last for a long time.

Because of the way Elgin watches are made, you could have a very old Elgin watch and it could still be in working condition. Collecting these popular watches has become quite the hobby. On the watch closeouts website, you will find many models of this classic brand. The prices are even lower than usual on this discount website and they have both men’s and women’s watches. Shipping costs are low and most watches have an extended guarantee in case anything was to happen.
Come buy an Elgin watch right now and collect a piece of history. These are literally the first machine made watches and will last for long periods of time.
