Pulsar watches came into existance in the 1970s during the era of space exploration. The first Pulsar watch, presented in 1972 by the Hamilton Company, featured electronic quartz with LED digital display and a space-age look. By any standards, it was unique to the market for its day.

A pulsar (for which these watches were named) is the core of a collapsed star. Pulsars rotate rapidly, as much as 1,000 times per second. Radio waves are sent out with each rotation, waves that can be detected on earth. These pulses provide incredibly accurate timekeeping, which is why Pulsar is a fitting name for an excellent watch.

Pulsar is now produced by the SEIKO Corporation. There are four types of Pulsar watches designed for different purposes.

The Pulsar Prestige integrates traditional design with quality and value. They are suitable for wearing anywhere. There are Prestige styles for both men and women.

Poise is a women's model, designed to be elegant and sophisticated. It's particularly at home for special occasions.

The other watch specifically designed for women is the Prelude line. The design is aimed at young females. It strives for a sexy, smart look.

Pulsar Performance is the sports line of watches. It's functional, reliable, and strong. Performance watches are designed for all kinds of land and water sports.

Pulsar watches got their name from the most accurate timekeepers in the universe. With a watch to match any need or desire, there is a SEIKO Pulsar watch for you

Choosing Wholesale Watch Suppliers

Finding a good wholesaler in any business can be difficult. When selling watches, there are so many wholesalers that it can seem impossible to choose among them. Not all wholesalers are equal, though. Here are some things to consider when choosing a watch wholesaler.

When weighing the pros and cons of the various wholesalers, some things are important to know. Here are some ideas of what to look for.

Beware of wholesalers who charge you a membership fee. True wholesalers are in business to supply retailers. Often those who charge membership fees don't offer prices low enough to warrant the additional fees.

Pay attention to minimum order requirements. Often larger orders mean lower cost per piece, but you want to be certain that the minimum requirement makes sense for you. Ideally, the per-piece price should be low enough that you can be competitive, but with a low enough minimum that you don't have a large inventory sitting around.

Don't underrate customer service. Before committing to a company, call them a few times. Ask questions that they should be able to handle. Make sure the phone is answered fairly quickly. Determine whether or not these are people you can work with.

Availability is also important. If you tend to carry a smaller inventory, you don't want to re-order only to find you can't get new stock for several weeks. This will in turn give you less to sell, making it likely that you will lose customers.

Unfortunately, it takes time to wade through all those websites. Getting recommendations from somebody else might help you narrow it down more quickly. In the end you won't be able to see them all, but you don't have to view every last one to make the best choice.

Watch Repair

Watch retailers often find they are in a position to repair watches. If you are learning about repair, it's important to know what tools you'll need. There are six tools you'll need to start with, but in time you'll want to expand.

In order to repair watches, tweezers are essential. It would seem to make sense to get the magnetic type so you don't lose small parts, but magnetic tweezers can get in the way. Tiny parts will stick to them at all the wrong times.

Screwdrivers are another necessary item. You will need a variety of sizes. You might laugh when you first see how small they can be made.

Oil is also important to watch repair. There is a range of quality on the market, so do your research and make sure you purchase a good quality oil. This is one purchase you don't want to choose based on price.

As anybody who has tried to open the case knows, a good watch case opener can make the entire process much easier. A closer is important, too. It does you no good to repair a customer's watch, only to return it to him with a broken or scratched case.

The last item pertains to visibility. You will be working with tiny parts. This requires an area with lots of light and probably a high powered lamp. In addition, you'll want a good magnifier.

This is a list of the basics you will need to start in watch repair. It is not all-inclusive. As your business grows, so will your supplies.

Better Photographs Equals Increased Watch Sales

Auctions are a popular way to sell watches. Most experienced auctioneers know that pictures are an important part of selling on eBay and other auction sites. Here are some tips to use those pictures to increase your sales.

Unless you have searched your competitors' auctions, you may not realize that most watch sellers use similar pictures. If you want to increase sales, stand out from the crowd. Find better ways to display your watches to show them at their best and to increase customer interest.

One of the easiest ways to see sales increases is to take multiple pictures. When customers see pictures of a watch at several angles, they feel more confident that the condition of the watch is good and are likely to pay more for it.

Of course, you want the pictures to look good. To get the best image, avoid using direct flash. Direct flash will reflect on the watch metal or glass. If you need flash, use a diffuser or bounce it off the ceiling. Another idea is to shoot just before sunset, taking advantage of the soft lighting.

Before loading the photos to your auction site, look them over again. Pay close attention to the watch face. Make sure the hands of the watch don't cover up decorative details that the customer will want to see. On the other hand, if the watch hands are a big part of the design and originality of the watch, make sure they show up well in the picture.

The above suggestions are just a couple of quick and easy suggestions for increasing the number and price of sales. They are easy ideas to implement. Try them and watch what happens to your sales.
